Forum, Radix, Atlas: all new buildings that have risen on Wageningen Campus in the last few years. And we will just continue to build: in 2013 the second educational building Orion is projected to be finished. Also, a decision has just been made to move the approximately 600 staff members of Agrotechnology and Nutrition to the campus in 2013 instead of in 2020.
The new educational building Orion will get a pentagonal substructure and will consist of eight floors. Another building with spectacular views of the surroundings of Wageningen. Close to the entrance there will be a restaurant with an inside garden and outside terrace. On the first and second floor there will be a big lecture room for 720 people that can be divided in two to six smaller educational areas. On the roof of this divisible lecture room there will be a terrace onto wehich the other five floors, which are mainly theoretical and practical rooms, look out.
The general director of Agrotechnology and Nutrition, Peter van den Elzen, is very pleased with the decision made by the Board of Directors to quickly move to Wageningen Campus. "It's a good decision. We deserve newly built buildings. The number of students is growing fast, the results in research are excellent, we have a Spinoze Prize winner and Academy professors. Moving to the Campus is good for the cooperation between the university and other parts of Wageningen UR."
